Insurance companies cannot raise your rates for filing a hail/wind claim. It is considered “an act of god” which is out of your control. What insurance companies can do is collectively raise rates based on an area demographic and the amount of previous storms on record.

Is Heartland Roofing, Siding and Windows licensed and insured?
Yes, we are licensed and insured as required by state law.

For an insurance claim, will you pay my deductible?
The state does not allow us to pay for deductibles. It is considered insurance fraud and the insurance commission has recently been cracking down on both contractor and homeowners who participate in this.

For an insurance claim, why is my mortgage company listed on the check?
When insurance companies write checks over a certain amount, they are required to list your mortgage company on the check as well. Your mortgage will have to endorse the check as well to get the money released. We will be able to walk you through the process when the time comes.

For an insurance claim, why does my insurance company only pay part of the money upfront?
Most homeowner insurance policies have what is called “Replacement cost value” meaning the only cost to the homeowner will be their deductible. Normally, insurance companies will pay “Actual cost value” before the job starts. Once we have finished the work, we will send in our invoice to your insurance company at which point they will release the full amount minus your deductible.
