About Kellan Coppinger:

After years in the roofing industry, I left construction to become a Combat Engineer and NCO Sergeant in the US Army for 4 years. I transitioned back to this industry after meeting the Heartland team and loving their culture. I am excited about taking the best of my two professions and pushing the roofing industry forward with technology. I am excited to bring in drone technology to provide homeowners with a clear, concise view of their roof so they can make the best decision possible for their home and family.

In my spare time, you can find me keeping up with my 2-year-old daughter Emery. I live with my girlfriend in Ames, and I’m so proud to cheer her on as she is earning her master’s degree in biomedical engineering at Iowa State. We have a black lab/aussie mix named Dixie and love a good Iowa State tailgate! On the weekends, I love visiting my huge family, helping on the farm, or hunting.

Heartland was a tremendous help with replacing my roof after storm damage. Communication with them was professional and timely. Heartland was recommended through Alex's insurance company after his home sustained hail damage. With State Farm's backing, Alex felt at ease. He was so thankful that he got the recommendation and that we worked with his insurance to get his home the proper construction it needed. Alex selected GAF Timberline American Harvest shingles in the shade of golden harvest, with white gutters. In the end, Heartland and his adjuster had the same end goal for Alex and his home - to love the finished look!

We had the opportunity to help out our neighbors when their homes sustained hail damage. We completed 5 projects within one day, but what makes it so special is how each of these homes was right next to one another in a cul-de-sac! Chase, one of our sales project managers whose home was also affected by hail damage in this neighborhood, was supportive right from the start. He not only wanted to fix his home, but he wanted to make sure that his neighbors were put first during this stressful time. Chase and Heartland value family and to live up to that, Chase wanted his neighbors to know that we are right in the trenches with them. To make this unique project happen, communication was the key factor. From beginning to end, Chase stayed connected with his neighbors and made it a point to schedule all houses at once to make the process go as easy as possible. Chase was professional and knowledgeable while working with Diane, and the rest of his neighbors. He gave his expert advice to his neighbors when they needed it. Diane selected GAF Timberline HDZ Shingles in the shade of barkwood for her roof and Polar gutters in the shade of musket brown. Diane couldn't be any happier with how her experience went. We were so glad to be there for Diane and the rest of her neighbors!

Initially, Heartland stopped out to inspect Dallas’ roof after he saw hail damage. We did our thorough inspection, per usual, and moved forward. Upon tearing off the shingles however, we saw the true extent of damage that condensation in an attic can wreck on the roof’s sheeting. Because Dallas’ roof was not properly ventilated, air and water could not escape, and instead collected on the inside of the roof. This condensation rotted the sheething. We replaced all the rotten sheething and brought the roof up to code. We also included new whirly birds, which pull air out of the attic, and any water along with it. Dallas’ roof is now in tip top shape with GAF Timberline HZ Shingles in the shade of birchwood, he should not have any issues with condensation in the future! The beauty of working with Heartland is our vast knowledge of not only products, but of how your home should be engineered to function properly for years to come.
